Go to Task Manager, click on Processes and tell us what the number opposite System Idle Process is when it's running at 100%.

CTRL-ALT-DEL, click on 'Processes,' Scroll down to the bottom of the screen - alternatively, actually, additionally, what processes are using the CPU?

You said that this has been happening "since you've had the computer" - is it new? If so, don't do any drastic self-help such that you void your warranty; call Dell and let them handle it.

He/she knows more about it than you do - you are reading the wrong info.

Watch the language and watch the slandering.

If you give more details and pay attention to what they are asking you to do then this would be much easier for everyone.

Help is usually achieved thru polite requests even if impatience is felt!  Most people like to help - but no one is psychic!

Indeed something is wrong to have CPU going flat out - it should be down to minimal between major events - but to try and diagnose such a thing info is needed - lots of it.  Hope is then to gradually pin down what might be at fault.
Ain't technology great - until it goes wrong!

              Well said ChrisXPPro.

You never answered all of the questions. Is it brand new?

You said that this has been happening "since you've had the computer" - is it new? If so, don't do any drastic self-help such that you void your warranty; call Dell and let them handle it.

Let's see what's running that is causing the cpu to run at 100%.

Download and rename TrendMicro HijackThis.exe (HJT)

              • Double-click on HJTInstall.
              • Click on the Install button.
              • It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.
              • Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
              • Close HijackThis and rename it.
              • Go to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.exe
              • Right click on HijackThis.exe and select Rename.
              • Type in sniper.exe and press Enter.
              • Right-click on sniper.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
              • From the desktop open HijackThis.
              • Important! If using Windows Vista, Right-click and Run As Administrator
              • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button
              • HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
              • Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
              • Do not have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Although we have renamed HijackThis to sniper, we will still refer to it as HijackThis or HJT.

With your attitude, I doubt, you're gonna get a lot of help around here.
I'd even say, close to none.
