well...if you are using dialup...it means you are using cards of some isp.....so you should check whether the card is charged or not....if it's out of Balance then?..
or...you should type the Error code ....what kind of error it gives...please make it clear

          Hi,Again
Sorry no cards no error code.USB cable from PC to ZyXEL Prestige external modem. From modem phone lead into filtered phone socket.
The prom,em has suddenly arrived where I have lost the AUTODIAL situation, and, after approx 3 mins I get a popup which says because of inactivity this connection is being disconnected. This is not what I have always experienced
Usually, when I boot up,my connection is automatic, and stays live until I close down Dont know what has made it alter.
                            Thanks for your Patience

Hi,They just checked their end, which proved fine. They said it sounds like a setting problem between ADSAL and dial up but confurmed it is definately on my end.
                               Thanks

They usually say so. You're not getting your internet for free, are you? Ask them to fix it.

                Hi,
Many thanks for your interest.I had to wait until weekday to get to the bottom of it.It turns out that the settings in Norton had become confused, and after a CHAT session it has now been corrected.
                                       Thank You.
