    resolution help

    when i go to change the resolution on my laptop it does not decrees the # of pixels it just makes the screen smaller with a large black border how do i make it not do . i am on vista

    Probably you need to update your video card driver from the manufacturer's website.

    Or, if you already have the proper drives installed, usually they have a setting that lets you choose between stretching the image onto the whole screen or having black borders.

      Right click on empty desktop space, click Personalize, then Desktop background.
      Make sure, The middle option is selected:



      You still may need to update video driver...

        i know my laptop doesnt support a large resolution... and lets me have 800x600. when its put on 1024x768 it shrinks the screen down and it is only a small square on the middle of the screen...

        how big in inches is your screen?

          What's the "Make" and "Model Number" of your laptop?  Perhaps you aren't the first/only person to encounter this issue.
