    I am at a friends house and I would like to connect to the internet on my laptop.  I have the ethernet cord in the jack on the side.  Nothing.  I don't know much more.  HELP!?


    i have a compaq presario r3200 if that means ne thing

    Can you try your friend's Ethernet cable?
