Lost Google Icon

Hi

I have Along with Inertnet explorer I also have Mozilla fire fox.

My problem is  When I am using Internet explorer had a Google Icon on my desk top which I used. now it is gone.

When I type google in the address bar - google comes up BUT IT IS IN
MOZILLA FIREFOX and not Internet explorer

Is there anything that be done to correct this?

So if you type google, you get www.google.com in Firefox but not in Internet Explorer?

What about if you type www.google.com in the address bar?

Also, what did this desktop icon do?
