    Since it's Vista, when you're done with sfc...
    Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder. You'll see CBS.log file.
    Usually, it's pretty big file, so upload it here: http://www.uploadbigfiles.net/, and post download link.
    My computer denies access to that file and won't let me upload it.

      I guess.  I bought and setup the laptop. I never set any admin passwords or anything.

        I do not think so.  When I entered the command in run, nothing happened.  Th run box just disppaears and that is it.  I am going to ty it ight now....brb..

          nope, nothing.   type "run" into the search box under start.  Type sfc /scannow into the run box, hit ok, run box disapears.  Thats it.

          Depending on your system sfc will sometimes run that fast if there are no file issues...
