    I have a windows 2000 Vaio Laptop
    I was wondering if it could connect wireless to my house connection

    Check Device Manager, if any Network Adapters are listed. Since it's Win 2000 = pretty old laptop = I doubt, it has any built-in network adapters.
    If you won't find any, you'll have to use plug-in network card, assuming the laptop has PCMCIA port.

    To follow up on what Broni said, if your laptop has a PCMCIA Card slot (old laptops usually do), you will need something like this:

      Just plug it in, and give it a shot. You'll need a driver, though.
