    Silverlight
    « on: February 06, 2009, 06:19:54 AM »
Hi. I use Firefox on the Net. But when looking at Microsoft's Web site a box asking if I wanted to download Microsoft's Silverlight came up. Is it worth me doing that or do I not need it as I am using Firefox?
    Thanks for any replies.

Well, first of all I think you know but just in case - silverlight is not another web browser.

If you did a little browsing with my favorite search engine, then you would find some answers to your questions. :-X

I  did a search but did not find anything that told me for sure if I need it. I think it is just for IE, but am not sure about that, which is why I asked.

Well if you have Flash installed then there is no need for silverlight, so it's your choice really. Basically a choice between silverlight and flash.

It's just another addon to liven up the web.

Not true. They are completely different technologies.

Well I would try to explain it but when I went to google and typed google as the search criteria the first link in the list was a link back to the search engine. So after spending some time trying to get out of the google loop I was stuck in I just decided to say to heck with it as I am sure that if any one can figure out what google is you can.  ;)
