Buying on Saturday! Need help checking
« on: January 31, 2009, 01:16:26 AM »
Hey! I am going to build a computer soon, and am planning to buy this Saturday. This is my current build:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136149

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116488

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.156692

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.155166

Total w/ tax and shipping: $1044.50

After Mail in Rebate: $979.50

~Case chose the 690 bcause it had free shipping/combo... If you can find a case/psu that cost less than 115 shipped and +tax and feel that I should change it, please say =)

~Everything else, I already have...

~Do you think I can get any good deals?

~For the price, do you agree with my selections (uh... so for 980 dollars, inc monitor/tax/shipping/os... a good price? Or can I get more for less?)

~I just am checking for compatability issues, and am pretty much settled on everything now... As for the fans, any opinion?

~Any advice?
Thanks!

go with same DVD ROM ... doesn't matter to me that much

Very cheap computer!! half of what i paid for mine and this one is like twice better...
Now for a little bit more memory get like a 650 to 750 watt power supply get another 1 of those graphics cards and maybe get some more memory and you'll be set for a few years...

Welcome to the forums jamorama, that's a good build you have there.
Could possibly be improved in some way, but I wouldn't argue for that price.
kutless' build has vastly worse graphics, a much slower CPU, and a worse case (in my opinion, that is).

The looks of a case are always people's opinion, but the case you picked has 80mm fans - nowhere near as good for cooling and noisier than the CM690's 120mms.

      Raidmax Smilodon...
Check the prices against your case.

If you are buying Saturday you certainly didn't give us much time for ideas... :-\
