Laptop slow to hook up with wireless connection
« on: March 21, 2009, 06:59:54 PM »
My HP laptop takes forever to hook up with my wireless connection after I click on the Internet Explorer icon. Most times it will finally hook up but sometimes will fail and I get the "not responding" message. After hook up does occur, browser speeds are normal. I have a broadband cable ISP and I'm running Windows XP. Its just that initial hook up when I first click IE icon that takes so long. Is there something thats turned off or on thats not supposed to be? Somebody help me :(

Maybe you have extra programs that running that slowing you computer down when starting up. Start/AllPrograms/Startup and delete whatever in the start up menu. This will not delete anything off you computer but take it out of the start up menu.
