« on: April 05, 2009, 07:48:02 AM »
think i just broke my pc. I did a virus scan cus i got a trojan and it asked me to restart and when i restarted it, it has a message that says "data execution prevention"-microsof windows to help protect your computer, windows has closed this program:

ntfs volume maitenence utility

I can't do anything all i see is the background image of my desktop and there is no icons or anything, ctrl and delete works though and i can access programs that way although it isn't practical by any means and i would love to go back in time but i don't know anything about pc so please help tyvm.

Get into safe mode ...follow and print these instructions.....enter your last known good configuration from the list of options.

    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm

if you've booted several times since the problem started this may not work since all saved versions of Last Known Good reflect the problem.

Do a antivirus scan in safe mode.

Then a System Restore from safe mode .

hmmm. that doesn't sound great... what i would do is just use your system disc to dump and reinstall your computer if there are files you want you can use your system disc to do a system file repair witch replaces system files and may save your computer.
