    Formatting hard drive on laptop c400

    My laptop crashed and was advised to get a new hard drive for it,which I did -100gig;Now,next set,after installing it would be formation;

    can anybody please give me the steps for it?I am not a computer genious,but I think I can do it if somebody puts it down for me....

    Insert OEM OS cd into drive and boot from CD then follow installation and as part of installation it will format. If Windows its that easy, if Linux and the distro doesnt have an installer helper in which you need to manually create partitions etc you would need more assistance. I am guessing your Windows which is boot from CD and then follow directions.

    *** IF Laptop is very old it may not boot from CD and probably wouldnot address HD to full 100gb. Guessing a newer laptop that will.
