Is quickbooks making my screen fuzzy?
« on: July 04, 2009, 02:01:49 PM »
I have a office computer that we run our bookkeeping on. The monitor gets so fuzzy it gives you a headache. It is not the hardware this has been going on through 3 computers and different monitors different location etc. The only thing consistant is the quickbooks software. None of the other computers in the office have it and they are fine. Anyone ever here of a problem like this? :||x

Just a little more info. At first the screen is ok and it gets worst as the day goes on. It acualy looks as though the letters are shaded as if they are shifted to the left a hair kinda like a fuzzy 3d effect.... ???

What kind of monitor are you using?  I would be 99% convinced that this was not caused by Quickbooks.

Specs of monitor and base unit (graphics card if possible) would be helpful.

Hi Rob sorry I take so long to get back. I am a a/c man and it is 100 degrees here :P
The current monitor is a lenova 17 in flat screen that came with a lenova computer I bought last year. The lenova computer it came with did the same thing that's why I got rid of it. Before you think it might be the monitor it did the same thing with a hp 15 in flat screen.
The board has built in video and is a gigabyte with 4 processors and 4 gig of memory.

Like I said before the confusing thing about it is it has done this through 3 computers and 2 different monitors  ???

Do you get this kinda "ghost image" on  the desktop as well?......I had a similar case where I thought I was going to have to swap a power supply, but when the tower was moved from the floor to the desk the problem cleared......so I'm guessing the problem was with the monitor or router connection and the movement was sufficient to stop the problem....Wouldn't hurt to doublecheck connections all around.

Karnac may be thinking along the right lines.  These computers you've experienced the same issue on - have they all been located in the same place?  If so, do they exhibit the same behaviour if placed elsewhere in the office?  I'm thinking magnetic interference perhaps (although I've not particularly heard of TFTs suffering from that - it's a CRT phenomenon).

This isn't a really old version of Quickbooks with a parallel port dongle is it?

Man I have tried everything. The tower is on the floor and it is in a different part on the room that it was before. I had a ups on it but I disconected that. I built the current unit a couple of months ago and it worked fine untill we loaded the bookkeeping software on it. And it has the latest quickbooks.
