no signal input

i got a popup when i turned of the pc , ( no signal input check video cable ) , what doe's this mean

Is that not from your monitor? If you turn off the PC before the monitor, the monitor will say it has no signal... because it no longer does.

Yes Mulreay, that's exactly what it is - an advisory from the display saying it is not recognized by the computer (the computer isn't on).

Yeah, that one is all right - it's the monitor's way of telling you, "Hey, I work, but I don't have an incoming signal from the computer that I can show you."  It probably does indeed stem from turning off the computer before the monitor, which is all right, as far as I know.

It's a standard monitor display.

It wasn't so much that your point needed clarifying, M, as just trying to reassure Harry that nothing was really wrong, and that it's standard for monitors to have such a display.
