Do xp sp3 useful to a home PC?

I have read in the mircosoft website the following :

"This installation package is intended for IT professionals and

developers downloading and installing on multiple computers on a

network. If you're updating just one computer, please visit Windows

    Update at http://update.microsoft.com ."

    Website:

My question is if the sp3 is worthful to install on home PC. Bcz, I

have installed a vista theme for xp which will not work on sp3.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Every user should install the latest service pack for his OS.

There is a uxtheme patch for sp3 somewhere. there must be, since I have a "custom" theme of sorts (Royale Noir) on my XP desktop.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

I had that, then I got Zune, then I found a modified Zune with a black start button. There is a patched SP3 version of uxtheme.dll
