can't get hijackthis to run on windows 7 get error box

The error box says..for some reason your system denied write access to the host file.If any hijacked domains are in this file, Hijackthis may not be able to fix this.

Take ownership of the HOSTS file (http://www.blogsdna.com/2159/how-to-take-ownership-grant-permissions-to-access-files-folder-in-windows-7.htm) located at C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

I followed your directions on the site but I am still getting the same error box. I renamed hijackthis to sniper.exe as told to do by computerhope site. Maybe this is part of the problem?

Run HJT as Administrator (under right click).
