if i want to revert back to win 98 from win xp....how do i change my file system?

You will have to reformat your Hard Disk Drive.

True, you can only convert FAT32 to NTFS under Windows XP, and not the other way around, but there are several 3rd-party utilities, such as PartitionMagic + many more that will do this. Of course, most of them cost money.

I should have mentioned, if you actually want to run Win98 instead of XP, you must of course do what Raptor said.
