    Possible virus?
    « on: January 13, 2010, 02:08:12 PM »
I say "possible virus" because it showing all the symtons, yet Norton 360 and superantispyware cannot locate anything thing other than a few adware/spyware programs that have been quaranteen.

    Here the symtoms
    1. Cannot connect to internet.
    2. Symtem restore as been turned off. (not by me) and cannot be turned on.
    3. Command prompt window will only remain open for a few seconds. (5-8 at most)
4.In device manager the folowing items are highlighted with yellow excalmation marks.
           A. Intel(R) 82562V 10/100 Network Connection
           B. WAN Miniport (IP)-
           C. WAN Miniport (IPX)-
           D. WAN Miniport (Network Monitor)
    (all above devices are enable)

This is what I have done to date. The problem started last night.

1.Run full system scans using Norton 360 and Superantinspyware program. Other than few adware program  (now Quaranteen) no trojans worms or viruses found by either.
    2.  Attempted to repair network connection. ( not successful.)
3.Try to uninstalled devices marked with yellow exclamation mark. Recive message stating devices cannot be  remove, may be part of boot process.
    4. Trouble shoot network connections.

Looks like your network devices are not working properly as indicated by the exclamation points, what do they say when you double click on one of the devices?

Have you tried running HiJackThis or any other tools it?

Looks like your network devices have been corrupt and if you are unable to uninstall them you would not beable to reinstall and fix them to get connected to the internet.

I would suggest downloading and installing Avast or Antivir or AVG and run a scan with those and see if they find something. Just make sure you download the current defination files along side them seeing as they wont be able to update during the install.

It's not- in fact, no virus is. And the only type of virus that makes it not worth the effort are file infector viruses.

I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
