    Laptop camera issues

    I just got this new computer today.....the Acer Aspire 5517 series (whatever the <censored> that is) and i was excited for windows 7 on it which i already absolutely adore and love to the max.....but i do a lot of work with my cam and there is definitely a cam in this laptop i can see it and it says it has one and points to the spot i know where it is.....I go on msn and start talking to my mom from the other side of the country and the cam wont work....if i use it it says i don't have one and if she asks me it says i don't have one.....so I'm like well i will go find it in my computer somewhere....and i have looked in my computer and control panel and i cant find it......i would love to be able to find this camera in my laptop somewhere so i can take pictures as well as have a good long deserved video chat with my mother....please help ???

      Windows live messenger.....but its not only that...i cant find the program anywhere on my laptop juist for its basic use of taking a photo

      Have you read the documentation that came with your laptop?

        yeah i did.....one book just tells me what everyhting on my computer is and shows diagrams....thats how i know for sure there is an "integrated webcam"......then the warranty....the little mini travellers warranty booklet....and then the rest are different language ones for those i listed.....im 19 i should be able to figure this out but i cant and its driving me insane lol.....any ideas where i could look or what to search for or what???

        Support Site.....

        You need the Win7 Drivers.
        Matter of fact if you re-installed the OS you'll need ALL the drivers for that model.

        Chipset Drivers go 1st.

        I just got this new computer today.....the Acer Aspire 5517 series...
        You have some support during the warranty period, right? I'd contact them and ask about the webcam.

        Did that computer come with Windows Vista installed?  Did you upgrade to Windows 7?  If so, see patio's post.
