Are you referring to the video drivers for your Dell computer?

        Hi,
I am assuming you are trying to improve the res on PC.
If so, click Start->Control Panel->Display->Settings Tab.
Then adjust the "Screen Resolution" and "Color Quality"
        Click OK.
Then Click Yes or No, when the Dialog Box appears asking if you want to keep these settings.....

If this is not want you wanted, please reclarify your issue

        Regards
        Steve  :)

Save the file to the desktop instead...
        Then double click it.
If it's a zip file it will ask where you want it to be unzipped so create a folder called vid driver...or whatever.
Then open that folder and clik on setup.

Yeah, I have downloaded the Video Driver from the Dell website for my particular laptop.
I have saved it to my desktop as instructed.  When I click the download
and select RUN AS...I get a box that pops up asking me to select ADMINISTRATOR or OWNER
and then underneath it asks for a PASSWORD...I assume this is to allow me to install the
download........the problem is none of My normal Passwords work......what gives?????

"Which User account do you want to use to run this program"
it says and has a box that is checked "protect my computer and date from
          unauthorized program activity"

then underneath the THE FOLLOWING USER:

          Administrator or Owner
          Password________

          2.   another issue I am having is that when I start the computer (before Windows is started)
I get the following message that pops up...

"BOX comes up it says WARNING:  Battery cannot be identified the system cannot charge the
                                                                 this battery

<F2> 2 times to enter SETUP
or <F12> and any kep to enter BOOT MENU

<F2> gives me the following info.......BIOS Version  1.7.0
                                                                     Extended Memory....1439744 KB

when I press <F12>.........it takes me to a BOOT MENU

if I simply press ENTER when this box appears it says the following:

"SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 4:  WDC WD1200BevS-00Lato-(S1)
Warning:  Immediately back up your data and replace your hard drive disk
          A failure may be imminent

what does any of that mean...........???...........I have had some issues with this computer from
wavy screens to the computer running terribly slow......the screen is now stable after I ran
SUPER ANIT Spyware but the resolution is still not great and the computer is running very slow
1.4 GHz.....I can get on the web and do basic stuff but really want my old computer back if
possible any ideas or help that can be provided would be great.

          3.   the computer will suddenly turn itself OFF even when plugged into the wall outlet
any thoughts on this as well??

any fixes or cures would be great
