i didn't see anything about Elements 4.0, all i have is Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 with all the subfolders.

Download the attached zip file at the bottom of this post and then unzip it on your desktop.

Enable viewing of hidden system files & folders XP

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:

• Under the Hidden files and folders heading:
• Select Show hidden files and folders.
  
• Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  
• Also, make sure there is no checkmark beside Hide file extensions for known file types.
  
• Click OK

Now cut and paste the dll into the Elements 4.0 folder.

You may need to register it for the changes to take effect.

Go to Start > Run > then type regsvr32 ad2h264dec.dll then click OK

Rehide viewing of hidden system files & folders XP

1. Open My Computer
2. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
3. Select the View tab.
4. Under the Advanced settings box option select the following:
5. Select Hide extensions for known file types
6. Select Hide protected operating system files
7. Select Do not show hidden files and folders
8. Click OK


Did that fix the error?

yep, i think so but all i had to do was paste it into the folder, because it when i typed in the code into Run it said "LoadLibrary("ad2h264dec.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found." But nothing had popped up yet so i dont know if that mattered or not.

Restarting the computer should also register it.

ok i restarted it- everything seems to be ok for now. but if its not its not that big of a deal because the only time it comes up is when AIM is telling me that someone signed in, so i wont worry about it too much.

I have the same problem as rawrr except I am on Windows 7 x64.  Everytime I send an IM I get that error message.  It is quite annoying as I have to click OK after each IM sent.
