windows 7 not recognizing hard drive format
« on: March 12, 2010, 07:52:21 PM »
Just purchased a new computer with windows 7 and having an issue.

Back Story......
Old computer wouldnt boot.  It would go through the MB screen and it woudl like the matrix got it.  Shorted the bios and everythign looked good but windows would not start.  Tried to format the main drive 250gig a few times and it would always stop.  I wanted a faster comp anyway so i ordered up a new computer

asus m4a78 board
phenom 2 X4 965
windows 64 bit
160gig drive

I put the 250 gig (had XP on it) and my 400gig (pics, vids and music) into the new computer.  The computer immediately tells me there is a problem with teh 250gig which i expected but it does its thing and as far as i can tell everything is there (not expected).  The 400 gig though it says it needs to format and does not recognize the file format.  Really dont want to have to format this drive any help is appreciated.  Its a seagate barracuda 7200 if that matters.

Thanks for the help
