version 1 linksys WMP55AG wireless card for desktop, Intel wireless WM3B2200BG from a pavilion DV6000 laptop, . in place of the removable linksys wmp55ag  card  that originally was installed on linksys card.
having problems getting any networks in range, running windows zero config application or intel pro set driver utility and drivers originally for hp card.  notebook can pickup 3 or 4 networks in range. (5 feet from tower GRRR)  VERY FRUSTRATING ???, a lil unsure how and what settings to use such as the  wep etc.  its an old house, brick walls and changing rooms have been considered lol  any help or insight into a fix would be great. running xp hp pavilion a810n. :'(... (also works fine in diff. comp)

Have you got the latest drivers for the wireless card?

Are you changing thoughts in the middle of your first post? Why did you start talking about WEP?

If there are two computers right next to eachother and one can see the wireless network with good signal and the other PC can't then it's obviously a problem with the wireless adapter.

What's the signal strength with which you are connecting to this network? Do you own this wireless network or are you connecting to a neighbors? How far away is the router from both computers?
