Help! I am trying to add a bootloader entry to NTLDR so I can install Windows 2000 to a backup part. just incase. So now that I have made the entry in the Boot.ini, I try to start it... BOOM! Machine is hung. It points to WINNT.EXE which is in C:\SETUP2K\i386\ and I have all the switches I need but it WONT BOOT!  :|| :||x

Because your pointer is directed at the install files directory...not the Win2K install itself.

Why edit the boot .ini anyways ? ?
Creating a successful dual-boot enviornment would have done the trick itself...

Now, I no longer have my 2k disk, but I have the setup files. What I want is to be able to start Setup from a boot option and just have a spare drive at the ready, but it is not working. That's the kind of thing I am looking for.But as I cannot use the boot option I cannot achieve what it is I want.

      1.  Create one.
      2.  This is a poor option.
      3.  Why not create a disk image with Macrium Reflect?  This would eliminate the need to reinstall all programs.

That is not an option, since I have no backup HDs and no floppy drive or the disks.
