Will the moniter show anything if there is no ram?  The problem is that I bought a old computer off my friend, and there wasent any ram in it, we pluged it in just to see if it worked...I video card is built on the motherboard.  Thanks ???

If you say you installed RAM, no problems should occur.

RAM is automatically recognized by the computer.

I think hellstorm meant that they plugged the computer in.  I don't think a system (old or new) will operate without ram.  By old, I mean recently old.  If you have an ancient system then it might be different but.. you never mentioned the age of the system or its type.
