I have a state-of-the-art computer, yet Linux Ubuntu 9.1 is very slow to start up and painfully slow to respond to mouse commands. What can I do to make it move faster?

Please post the specs of your machine, to give us some ideas as to what the problem might be. :)

Most likely you need a graphics driver or a compatible graphics card.

But post your specs, we can't help you until you do.  8)

The exact graphics card model. I've never heard of a Radeon 1 G.

The model is XFX, if that means anything.

XFX is the brand, not the model.

I bet he meant he has an XFX brand Radeon with 1 GB memory. But what model, we still don't know  :P
