    mail disappears

    Mail disappears from in-box as soon as it is opened. It is completely gone, not in the deleted items, nowhere.  What is wrong and how can this be fixed?  I have Vista using windows mail...

      Windows has a few mail apps...Outlook...Outlook Express...Live Mail etc.

      I'm not using my Windows Vista laptop now so I'm talking from a general point of view.  Have you reviewed settings in Windows Mail?  I don't recall whether it has a setting to delete messages as soon as they have been read, although I would think no such setting exists.
