    Dirty Virus, please help
    « on: November 25, 2010, 09:51:36 AM »
on my computer i torrented mixmaster v5, i dont think that caused the problem but im just going about what i did before it started to overflow my computer with virus warnings from avast.
it kept on saying to me that a stopper virus was on my computer and when ever i went onto google chrome and everytime i tried to go to a website that could help me it redirected me to another website
(Redirecting me). i soon restarted my computer because the frustration was killing me since my computer would not let me open control panel, find a good web page to help, or fix my internet explorer (my computer kept telling my the virus was in Temp/AppData/iexplorer.exe) i dont even use IE.
i turned on my computer to find the blue loading screen let on 3 options F9 - start up options (does not mean safe mode), F10 - Setup, F12 - Network Servise. Could not find safe mode anywhere. after the loading screen my screen just stays black and all the keys on my keyboard make the computer beep.

Reboot. As soon as the system posts start tapping the F8 (function) key and you should get to a boot option screen. Choose safe mode.

Okay. My suggestion would be a bootable Antivirus CD, but you can wait for one of our malware specialists to logon and they'll give you the best advice.

          AVG Rescue CD
          Trinity Rescue Kit CD
          BitDefender Rescue CD
          Kaspersky Rescue CD
          any suggestions?

I'm a Kaspersky fan, but just pick one and see what happens. And at this point I'm going to bow out of this thread because we do have malware specialists who know a lot more about what your next steps should be than I do.

Thanks a lot, after hours of scanning and a nice Turkey dinner with my family i get the virus to its knees, my computer is in working order after using that program. The problem was a media to ipod converter that i downloaded online 2 months ago, when i finally delete it, everything started popping up.
Hope you had a good holiday Allan, thanks again
