      Hi

       1.      First check the two systems it contains LAN port or Not (if not add).
       2.      Buy a Lan cable which is called Cross crimp.
       3.      connect two systems through this cable
       4.      Share everything you want to copy to another system.

These suggestions are too difficult, it creates Firewall problems, especially if one Computer is W2K and the other is XP.

      I assume that "businessman1927" has a router?
Plainly plug both Computers into the Router, and do Filesharing. Let the system will deal with the problems

You cant assume anything.  There isnt enough information there, Allan gave what is the best thing that he can try.  We will need to know what kind of Operating System that the units are running to config them correctly.  Also, the cheapest way to connect these is via a cross over cable.  Wal-mart or most electronic chains should have them.

        Slade,
You are absolutely correct: You can't assume anything.
businessman1927 did not refer to what OS was involved: Commodore, PS2, Appel may be?
        businessman1927's profile states: Windows.
From there Allan may already have assumed that businessman1927 was referring to an OS Windows, and therefor he suggested the mentioned Windows.Microsoft website. Allan should not have made that assumption without asking businessman1927 what operating system was at stake.
And I was so dumb to assume that businessman1927 was referring to OS Windows Re: profile, and perhaps had access to a Router.
Maybe businessman1927 is trying to cross an Amigo and a Timex2000. We still don't know.
        Such dumb assumptions!

I dont think that it would be that old of units.  If thats what he has, its more then likely Windows.  Course some people have several units.  Those are not self configing maybe if he was attaching to a preexsisting network.  This case he will need a peer to peer but, till he replies back we cant go any further.
