    my e machine does not recogonize my printer when i plug into computer

      If you have driver cd with you printer install it, it might be possible that have not installed driver for your printer.

        tom,
        when i insert my cd to load driver- two lines show up. one says checking current hardware
        the other  current progress.  both run for ever and only get half thru and seem to freeze.

        If it's a USB printer you should remove it in Device Manager,,,then unplug it and install the software...it will tell you when to plug it in...
