Virus Help PLEASE

I didn't have any virus protection for about 2 days. In those 2 day's I now have the internet working fine, but I cannot download ANYTHING. A video that would usually take 12 minutes says it will take 15 day's. I can't watch youtube, etc. Also there is what seems to me to be ALOT more processes running in task manager than usual. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I tried to reformat... I have windows XP disk, I wish I could just 'start over' myself but I'm not sure how to...

ok ..so if you are running XP sp3 OS
try to download Microsoft Security Essential it is free for all Microsoft OS Genuine products. It guarantees a great result..try to download it .. i think it will help your problem.
