What software do I need for Windows Server 2008?

I just bought Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition for Small Business, but i am unsure if that is all i will need as an Operating System for my new server.   Please let me know if this is the correct software....or do i need something more or different.  Thanks David H

Note that, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition is a data base server and not an operating system, so just to confirm did you already purchase an operating system (As subject saying) for your new server?
