Can't Watch Any Videos On My PC...
    « on: January 12, 2011, 01:13:26 AM »
Earlier yesterday every thing was working fine, but a few hours ago i noticed i can no longer watch videos whether it be online or on my desktop.

Online: The video only moves like 1 frame every 3-4 secs.
Offline: The video doesnt move at all. Just a still shot of the video while the timeline plays the audio.

Online: How's your Internet connection while watching video? How's the buffer, are they completed before you play the video?

Offline: What movie player are you using before you encountered the problem? Have you tried other movie player like VLC?

Also, please post your computer specs here so that experts may help you.

            Online video only?
            Which browser?
            Did you try different browser?
What type of internet connection do you have?

              Online and off.
              i have hi-speed internet.
Its not the RAM either. A few days ago my pc started acting normal for a day but my power cord came out and turned off my computer and when i turned it back on it started having the problem again.
i think its a trojan/virus and i ran my spyware/anitvirus program and it cleaned up files but i still have the problem.
It makes me want to snap my laptop in half because no matter what i do, the problem still exists.
And i dont have money to buy a new one.

What player do you use to watch offline videos?

Normally VLC but i found out no matter which one i use it lags.
                Its not the video player.

i have around 6 GB left.

Neither of the above is the issue because a few days ago when my pc worked right for a day, all my things were the same as nw.

As stated before, you have very little of RAM. Vista, or 7 needs at least 2GB of RAM to play nicely.
Your processor is very slow too.
6GB left where? Hard drive free space? How big is the drive?
                    Is it Vista, or 7?

                      Its Windows 7.

And like i said, its not because of the RAM. The other day my videos played normally with the same exact amount of RAM i have now.

You don't say where these video are coming  from, but I'm guessing YouTube.  One possibility is as processors have gotten faster and most machines have more and more RAM, more and more videos are being made in higher definition which demands more of a computer.

Try playing a DVD disc movie on your PC using your media software aside from the aforemention.
