    wireless internet issue
    « on: January 14, 2011, 06:24:20 PM »
if you set up a wireless router using your laptop and have the signal set up and its working, then you go to desktop and have not internet.
is there a way without a wireless card to get the signal, it wont work even with it plugged in.  Should i disable the laptop connection and initialize the setup on the desktop then using wireless card find that connection or is there another way to do it?

Hello, and welcome back  to the computer will forum.
There are many volunteers here that will help you out with your question.
Please be patient, and remember it is very important to provide as much information as you can.
Specific information we need here is as follows:
Make and model of computer you're using.
The make and model of the wireless adapter you are trying to use with that computer.
How do you normally get your Internet connection in the area where you live.
Do you have another computer with you that also works on the Internet?

    c. What Operating system are you running and on what type of machine/model/brand do you use?
    d. How many Modem/Routers are connected and what type of internet connection do you use?
    e. Do you have any other Firewalls installed other than Windows?
    f. What Protection/Antivirus Software are there installed?
