Midis have sound, nothing else does

I'm not sure why it happened it just did, now i only can hear Midis. What can i do to fix this?

First, uninstall your old drivers, then proceed to reset and install newer drivers.

What type of soundcard is installed?

so how do i do that? i'm not sure where to check for what soundcard i have

Go through any kind of documtenary on your soundcard that you might have. If you donot have any manuals concerning your soundcard, open your computer case,degmagnetize your hands and take out the audiocard to check for any kind of name or number printed on the card or on a sticker.

Or go through your Software removal list to see if there are any type of audio drivers installed. Investigate these files and note the information you can retrieve from them.
