After reinstalling my operating system on my desktop computer I tried accessing the internet. I got a message that said that my computer did not

This forum will gladly help you with any computer problem. But some details are required. Please identify the type of computer and which software it has. And tell about the modem. Is it a DSL modem or a dial-up modem?

This is not a major problem than you worried. You must have to check your network setting of your computer. Also, try to connect your modem in dial up mode in case of the failure of your way. For further help you can knock to your service provider or can change your modem.
