    Acer common parts

    Does anyone know if Acer market under different brand names? I need a motherboard for an Aspire 1692WLMi. Is there any other brands that I can search for. OR  Does anyone know where I can get the board repaired?

    Alcatel is one of the many brand names they used...there are others though.

    The other way around... Alacatel-Lucent is a big French telecoms and high tech company; my mobile phone has their brand although it is made in China; Acer is a Taiwan based company who supply components to Alcatel and many other companies.

    There was a major brand name they used and for the life of me i cannot recall it....

    Acer Aspire 1692WLMi is a notebook computer not worth repairing.  New motherboard probably costs $200.
