    I am unable to Download anything

    I am using Vista and windows 7 and I am unable to download anything when on the internet. When ever I try to download anything I get a message which states ___.exe file contained a virus and it was deleted. So i went and purchased norton and was unable to download it as well I got the same message. So my question is what can be causing this and what can i do to fix it. I tried the steps on http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html but was unsuccessful because I was unable to download.
