web site blocking in vista

i'm trying to block some websites on vista. i used some methods like blocking through hosts file, & internet option restricted sites. but it don't,(it works in xp) any successful method

If you were not running Notepad as Administrator when you first tried using the hosts file, be sure you start Notepad as Administrator, as stated in the two references.
