Windows 7 and IE 9
« on: April 13, 2011, 12:54:52 PM »
Hi All,
I have been running windows 7 and ie9 for a while with no problems. Today when I type something into the bing search on msn and click search IE opens a blank tab and just sits there. I never get any search results....just a blank page.

If I type a url in it works fine. Only when I try to use a search. I have tried google as well and same thing. It opens a blank tab.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe Bing wants you to use Google.....

Thanks for the link....

this is a new machine...full format and new install....I really only use it for my email from corp. The only web sites I have really gone to was msn.

Its running MSE and I am doing a full scan of it. I will let you know what I find.

You could always install a different browser and ignore IE.

It sounds to me like you are having some kind of malware or viral issue. I would do a hunt to make sure you are clean. I do however agree with the above advice, I would just use Firefox, it is a far superior browser in my opinion. It is very likely this would solve your issue.
I am considering buying a new computer. Anyone have any suggestions? Should I check out hhgregg? I have never been there. Thanks.

You're responding to a thread that is 3 months old. I'm guessing the problem has been solved by now.
