Will summer heat affect my wireless network?
Yes! Why would anybody think otherwise? In fact, it will destroy it. On shorten its useful life-span. And it has nothing to do with then radio frequencies used. All semiconductor electronics for consumer use are meant for less that triple digit heat. The are supposed to be used indoors in a controlled environment.
What got my attention is an article in a Fresno Rag that started talking about the frequencies used by the Wi-Fi devices and how the heat does not affect radio naves, therefore the heat is not a problem.
Somme people do zero research. In the specs of any router, witless adapter or almost any electronic device, you will find a page that says not to use the thing when the temperatures go above 100 Fahrenheit. On make says 104. Another says 90. In any case, the damage can be cumulative and permanent.
If you router overheats, turn it off. Let it cool down. Place a fan net to it.
