Folder opening in new window

I think got a bit of hint:

I Tools->Folder Options->File Types
Under "File Folder" i have explore and find.
Explore is the default one.
I am neither able to edit or change the set default tab.

Is there something releated to this.
Because it might be exploring whenever i double click.

I want it to open in the same window.
 
I have checked
Tools->General->Browse Folders
 Its "Opne each folder in the same window"

This is the way to do it... no risk.
The question is, why doesn't it work?
Do you have any programs running that could 'lock' your settings?
Can you try & change it from safe mode?

If there would be any chances of locking, then on restart i would get the wrong settings.

But i get the right ones.
Should i go for a safe mode.

I am not pretty adversent with Safe Mode.

How do i do it.

Is it F5 or F8

It depends on your OS. Usually F8.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del
and see what name comes up as user.
Then check in control panel users & passwords to see what your privilages are.

Right click on c:,  Select Properties>Security and have a look around in there.

Me too, but I think you have to apply those settings in the correct order.
