Windows98 Error message
« on: September 01, 2005, 03:00:08 PM »
EXP caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:0063f784

I keep getting the above error message when I log into my comupter, & it will not close or allow me to get into the internet.  I can move the error msg around, so I can work in excel, & it will not let me do ctr alt delete, so it will not let me shut down correctly.?  I used the mighty max for errors, but did not fix the problem.  I am the least bit computer wise.  I know how to use one, but the technical part is beyond me.  I had to email you this from work, since I can't get into my email at home.  Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thx, Sherri

ran scandisk & defrag - no change.
can't disable TSR's because it won't allow me to ctr alt delete.  I deleted all temp internet files too.   I haven't added any new software.  I did not add memory. We bought the computer with W98 arleady installed, so how do I update my software if I don't have the disc with W98?

Sheri:

It's likely you have a computer virus (specifically, a Trojan Horse).  Do you have an antivirus program installed?  If so, update the virus definitions and do a complete scan your computer.
