    will the back-lit keyboard from a hp envy work in a hp dv7t laptop ?/

    Well, each laptop has its own keyboard dimensions, so the ENVY keyboard probably wouldn't physically fit in. The keyboard connector to the motherboard may differ with manufacturers-I only have had keyboard experience with the BenQ Joybook Series-all the keyboard connectors were the same, but they were different from HP laptops. If you are courageous enough to attempt doing so without fear of voiding your warranty, try.
