"IE has stopped working & checking for solution"

I get this message numerous times daily.  Thing is, it hasn't really stopped working and there's never been a solution offered.  why is this message appearing and what can I do to stop it?  Many thanks.

Windows Error Reporting can be buggy, check the files that it sends?

I had a problem updating a version of IE once and I would get the same message.  And I eventually did get a solution from MS that worked.  But it takes some time if I remember.

If it's very technical, I'd be afraid to attempt.  I did download IE9, but that was at least 3 months ago ~ and this just started in the last 2-3 weeks.  Thanks, though.

The last time I had this problem occuring recently on my IE8 browser was not resolved by any Windows checking solution. However without any changes or reinstalling/resetting IE, the  stop error did not appear as of this time. The PC was on the same time installing critical or recommended updates which were installed successfully and now fully patch. I was also making a weekly clearing of cache or junk files by using Ccleaner and scanning with an updated Superantispyware for tracking cookies. Frequently do I scan by Malwarebytes but I update it anyway.
