ive installed a dvd drive into wifes comp now machine sees both in device man but not control panel  the device man reading says code 39 bad driver or missing    were are the cd drivers on xp install disk so i can repaire it? thanks

Remove the device from device manager and allow for redetection.

still doesnt see them comes up found new hardware and installs then nothing still not there  cable maybe?

    You may want to try add/remove hardware in the control panel.
    If xp is too dumb to find the correct driver it will give you a list of hardware to choose from.

      Does your dvd drive require a special driver?
      I'd look for you but Google would return too many hits on "dvd drive".
      Guessing the make & model number would be a long shot.
      Guessing your operating system would be easier.
