Wifi connection problems?

I am having wifi connection problems with my Mac book it is asking for a wep password but we only have a security password, my iPhone will connect using the security code but the Mac books won't accept it?? Please help me

The router's current security encryption type is on WEP, if the macbook is configured on WPA or WPA2, you will not be able to access your home network. Change the router 's WEP to WPA/WPA2 and check what is currently being used or supported by your airport wifi adapter. Just match both the device and the adapter and enter the correct key or password.
