Google chrome - I bet you can't solve this!
    « on: March 22, 2012, 11:55:15 AM »
Hello, I don't know how many forums I've been to that can't help me or don't respond - I have even tried the google chrome forums. Here is the problem:

On certain websites such as youtube, some of the pages are moved to the left causing everything to be really weird. I also notice it on some gaming sites. Everything is updated, I have no viruses/malware/spyware, etc. My computer is fully up to date 100%.

I have to make sure my mouse pointer is about half an inch to the right of everything to click it. So since the scroll bar is slightly to the left, I have to click to the right of it. For example, say if you seen:

    Edit      reply      thread

In order to lets say, click 'reply', I would have to move my pointer in the middle of 'thread' and reply'.

    What do you guys think?

      Things I've tried:
      -Re-installing
-Updating EVERYTHING (flash players, media, computer, etc)
      -Virus/problem scans
      -minimizing/zoom/playing with the screen
-Googling for answers but to no avail
-yell at google chrome for not working

It appears that you are set on blaming  this on Chrome. You  may be right.
      Have you tried:
      Using another computer.
Using another user on the same computer.
Boot from a Live Linux, do not install. Get on the network and install Chrome for Linux. See if it does the same thing.

How long has this been going on?  Any recent hardware software changes?

You did not supply us with any information about your computer other than you're using Google Chrome as a browser.

Well there are a few other people with google chrome with this problem, but not many. Any other web browser works fine.

"It happens on some of the pages on YouTube videos and some gaming websites..." and its fine the rest of the time?

So...this is an intermittent problem?  Does it happen all the time on those particular pages?  If so...give us some links to those pages so we can look at them with our own Chrome installations.

By the way...the links to your screenshots don't work for me...

A mere suggestion: try some different display resolution settings and see whether it makes any difference.

Screen resolutions are fine, doesn't make a difference.

It randomly happens on random youtube videos or if I'm extremely bored i'll go like on Runescape.com where it happens 100% of the time, even on the homepage.

Just a guess...but, it sounds like it may have to do something with Chrome's version of Flash.

Do you have Adobe Flash installed on your computer?  Separate from Chrome's browser, I mean.

            Edit...

If so...take a look at this topic from How-to Geek.  Though Chrome may/may not be crashing.  Chrome's Flash Player could have something to do with how the page is being displayed.
