Ubuntu is a popular version of Linux.
The core of the system is Linux.
Ubuntu has a very active community. In fact, the name Ubuntu has the idea of people helping one another.

But of course, there are many other versions of Linux.

The Wikipedia article has issues, but is an useful reference anyway.

Would you like a nice Ubuntu screensaver?
    Just  Google it.
