    Restoring To Factory Settings????
    « on: May 04, 2012, 02:02:37 AM »
I've only had my computer since the beginning of March and have had all sorts of problems with the computer locking up while trying to do Windows Updates and installing programs.
Every time I think the problems fixed it happens again. I had to pay Office Depot $60 to diagnose the problem last week and the problem came back a few days later.
I think I have something wrong my the Windows 7 operating system since the problems I had started immediately but I'm being told to restore my computer back to the factory settings.
They said that this should fix the problem but I don't think it will and I'm paranoid to do this because I think the problem will be worst or start doing the same thing again right away.
Does anyone have any opinions on this????
    I would really appreciate it!!!!!

Office Depot isn't going to help with the problem because it's software related and it's past 10 days.
If they do anything they are going to charge me.
How can you tell if the operating system is corrupted????
That's what I still believe it is.

Are you saying you have a new computer that only come with a 10 day warranty?

One thing to consider is possibly explaining your problems on this forum so that we can give more informed advice.

All we really know is you have a computer you've had for two months that has an issue that you are being told will be fixed by a factory restore. That's not a lot to go on.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

I think I fixed the problem myself using a program called Advanced SystemCare5.
I still have an issue when trying to reinstall I-Tunes. (see-attached)
Anyone know how to fix this????

Is not "Advanced SystemCare5" able to fix your problem?

That didn't fix the I-Tune problems but I think it fixed all my other problems.

If you paid for it, they will offer support for a period of time.  Don't know what this program does, it might be the one that has caused the reinstall problem.
